CLUTO status

Hello,

I just started looking into this library and I wonder what is the current status,
as it seems that the last available version (2.1.2) was last updated in 2006.
Will there be any newer updates? And are there any chances to get the source code?
This last question has been already asked some 4 years ago and the answer was NO,
but maybe the plans have changed since then?
